SPOKANE VALLEY, WA—Post Falls, Idaho spans just over 14 square miles in the panhandle of Idaho State. The city, though small, has rapidly expanded in recent years, up in population more than four times over since the early nineties to its current census of almost 30,000.

Whipple Consulting Engineers is currently aiding in this growth with six development projects in Post Falls now under construction. Two apartment complexes, two single-family housing developments, a new Goodwill Industries facility and a new municipal water well keep WCE engineers and employees frequently crossing the Washington/Idaho state line.

The first site, the Post Falls Goodwill store, celebrated their Grand Opening on the last day of March and was instantly a hit. This state-of-the-art facility replaced the smaller Post Falls branch and is larger and more efficient than the old store.

Next door to the new Goodwill is a project named Bel Cielo Apartments for Rudeen Development out of Liberty Lake, Washington. Bel Cielo is a six- building apartment complex currently under construction. It will house 96 total units and is scheduled for completion this Summer.

The Fieldstone Apartments is another complex nearby. This project will include a clubhouse, fitness center and pool along with balconies, covered parking and several more sought-after amenities. The Fieldstone Apartments are partially occupied and buzzing with both tenant activity and the tail end of construction noise.

Down the street from the Fieldstone Apartments is the single-family housing development Viking Estates. This project is unique in that it features oversized lots averaging half an acre and large common areas with walking paths and open green spaces.

The second housing development is Bluegrass Corner, a subdivision by Termac Construction. This projects’ 33 lots are now complete and awaiting homes and homeowners. The subdivision features nine floorplans that offer oversized garages, energy efficient features and deluxe landscaping.

WCE’s sixth ongoing project in the city of Post Falls is different than the rest- we’re working on a new municipal water well. The new well will pump 1,800 gallons per minute and serve the Ross Point Water District.

Whipple Consulting Engineers has provided services in Idaho for years, and as always is pleased to assist in the growing of a community. Even as the projects listed above are wrapped up, WCE hopes to continue our work in the city of Post Falls.
